How to Tie A Holiday Bow using 3 Ribbons – Step By Step Tutorial

1. Pick out 3 Different Ribbons

Start with 2.5" ribbon and measure an 8" tail and pinch. Create your first loop by measuring 12" and take it away from you and pinch. Anything below your thumb you are going to twist toward you. Measure another 12" loop and take it away from you and pinch.

2. Make Additional Loops

Make another set of 12" loops by repeating the same process of measuring 12" and pinching in the center with your two fingers and twisting. Fluff each loop to make sure they are the same length.

3. Add Solid Ribbon

Now add your solid 2.5" ribbon, starting with an 8" tail and measuring two 10" loops. Pinch and twist the ribbon in the center of your two fingers. If it's below your thumb, pull the loop toward you. Make sure the solid layer of ribbon is falling in front.

Add the third layer of ribbon by starting with the first streamer, then measuring an 8" loop. Take it away from you and pinch, then measure two more 8" loops. Take another length of red solid ribbon and add to the back of the bow.

4. Add Wire

Use floral wire to tie around the front of the center of the bow and twist in the back. Dovetail each end of your tails. Adjust your ribbons so the different colors are evenly dispersed. Trim any excess floral wire. Add your layered bow to your next Christmas project!
